Yesterday I dug 2 ditches to plant potatoes in. Will plant them today. Got a good fake spring going on, over 80 degrees in Alabama yesterday.

It's tater plantin' time in Texas, too, but it may be way too dry to do it here. Maybe next week.

Your version of "fake spring" is a lot different than the one we have in Northern NY on the Ontario border!

Oldest son and I are gonna plant 150 lbs this weekend.
Got the subsoiler on the 8N and the disc on the VAC and gonna put the tater plow on the JD H to dig the trenches.

We got home from Texas a week ago. I was shocked at all of the new housing going up between New Braunfels and Austin. I understand that is happening all over.
Demand for water is going to be high. If a drought occurs, and I heard that is projected, it might be hard to irrigate. You have to hope for rain.

My dirt rarely looks that dry in the heat of August.

Now it is mud as the temp gets up to 35 degrees, froze solid over night, the frost went deep this year 2-3 feet at least.

We have freezing rain forcast all day tomorrow.

Be late April before we get to any field work normally.

Fritz, tractor was in a lean-to next to a shop that burned down. Looked terrible, bought it for parts. Got it home and decided to hot wire it. Ran so good we saved it. Painted half for shows. Let's folks see what you can do.

Fritz glad you asked about that paint job on Grandpa Love's tractor. Then I first looked at it I thought The good side must be the wife's because she always get the good tractors. But then I noticed It does not had a double wide seat

take it from an Idaho Farmboy... ditches are for getting water to taters.. taters are planted in rows/hills with a furrow
