Cattle Squeeze, and portable loading ramp value

I have a couple things my brother left me. I will never use. One is a manual combination cattle squeeze, and tilt table. The other is a portable loading ramp. Anyone have any idea what they may be worth? Stan

This is mine. Not worth as much as some but worth more than a lot of others.

I agree with kansas4010, it's hard to picture what you actually got, with that vague of a discription. You could have something any where from really nice, to junk for the iron man.

For what it's worth, nobody uses loading shoots anymore for cattle, sense everyone has went to gooseneck trailers (ground load). About the only people that even mess around with a loading shoot are, people that haul cattle in a semi. And if they got enough cattle to require a semi, they are likely not going to mess around with a loading shoot that isn't nice, heavy duty, etc. And go up high enough to the deck of a semi trailer (pot). Not just up high enough for a pick-up.

The squeeze shoot. There is just to many variables that it could be. If like new, and not very old, it could be worth what a new one is. If not, brand name, condition, what it's functions are, and so on is everything.

I'm guessing if your brother just left them behind and it was not part of a business sepperation with you, or something similar, they probably aren't worth a whole lot. Meaning, if he purchased and was using this stuff, he likely knew its value and what he was leaving behind. Maybe he figured it would be of more use to you to just have it, than what he could get out if it.

I guess a picture would be worth a thousand words. The loading ramp is adjustable. I don't know if he used it or not, it's just here. He hauled his cattle with a gooseneck. He had a loading chute in his corral area when semi trucks came in. I will probably just put the stuff on craigs list. My brother died two years ago, and left me with lot of stuff to get rid of. Stan

I sold my Priefert chute three years ago for $5000 and the guy who bought it thinks it was a bargain. They can save you if you work with cows...

Thanks for that. I was thinking maybe 1/2 of that, and get it to someone who can use it. Since it also tilts with the animal in it. I would think that's a plus. Sitting outside a paint job wouldn't hurt. Stan

I'm sorry for your loss. I guess I was just under the impression by reading your original post, that your brother just quit what he was doing to do something else, and left some items behind on a property or
something.

If your brother was using a local vet, and the vet used the squeeze shoot
at location, the vet would be able to give you a very good idea of its worth. The vet would also likely have clients that don't have one. My vet has a portable he drags all over. I know he wishes more of his clients had thier own squeeze shoot.

The loading shoot would be worth something to the right person, IF it is suitable for semi use. Wood floor not all rotted out, and frame not all rusted away, and what not.

About the best I can tell you, without pictures.

If it tilts my guess it is a calf table. Nice item to have for a cow calf operation. I would say the value is hundreds not thousands.
I think we paid $500 for our powder river squeeze.

I kept mine inside and CLEAN. I put a lot of cows through it, then it got a bath. It wasn't new, but looked like it. New one was $6500.

If it tilts sideways it might be a hoof trimming table. Don't have a clue as to value though would think that would add some with the tilt like that. Had hooves trimmed that way and he would get them in and tip it sideways so the feet were right there handy for trimming without getting hurt.
