Hello All,
I bought my first hit and miss engine yesterday and look forward to restoring it to its former glory. I also like to learn the history of the antiques I restore. I've found some information, but hitting a dead end concerning the Holland Transplanter decal on the side of the block. Is it possible to get an image of the original 1938 Holland Transplanter decal (see attached image). I'd like to recreate the decal and apply it to the restoration. A picture of the decal would be fine; however, I'm having difficulty finding the 1938 version on the internet. If it helps, the engine information is below.

Model: Fairbanks-Morse 1-1/2 HP Z-D
S/N 806185 (Mfg.: 1938)
Application: Holland Transplanter

Thank you for your assistance.

Welcome TJ!

Nice find on the hit-miss!

I'm inclined to think the decal was probably applied by the dealer, not the engine manufacturer. Still it's been on there long enough to earn it's keep.

Good luck, there's a picture out there somewhere!

I've been (slowly) working on a FM ZC 3 HP. It's a fairly modern engine, toward the end of the production. Not real collectable, just something to look at.

It's almost done, hope to take it to some shows this summer.

I restored a Holland transplanter a few years ago but it was not that old. Holland is still in business. You can find them on the internet. They are out of Holland, Mi. I ordered replacement decals from them. They likely won't have the decals that old but might have a picture of the logo. They were very helpful when I dealt with them. I suggest contacting them and tell them what you have and what you are doing.
