I gather that you were at Clemson, right? But if you don't mind my asking, I would like to hear more about what your field was and your responsibilities there. Is Clemson the ag school? We are a big Purdue family here, dad and I were both high school ag teachers. Also wondering if you had any collaboration with people at Purdue or ever been there. My Daughter visited Clemson while a student at Purdue to compete in a rowing competition, and she really liked the campus.

Thanks,
Richard R (RayIN)

Yep, graduated Clemson, SC's Ag University, in 77 in Agronomy and second degree in Ag Ed.
Taught 2 years and went back to Agronomy Dept doing variety testing on wheat, barley, oats, and rye all over SC.
My Dad graduated in in Ag Ed in 37 after working his way through Clemson.
Both our sons have degrees from Clemson, one in Ag Mech and the other in American History.
Oldest brother has 2 Ag degrees from Clemson.

2 profs I worked with had degrees from Perdue.
I also use to talk with the sweet sorghum expert, Morris Bitzer, in Kentucky who got his PHD at Perdue.

Clemson campus is really nice, but is being ruined now by overbuilding.
I am glad we live 15 miles away from campus.
Richard

If your daughter rowed in competition, she was on Lake Hartwell next to Clemson which has 1000 miles of shoreline.
Clemson's football Stadium, Death Valley, has the football field which is about 10 feet below the level of the lake.
Protected by huge dikes built by the Corp of Engineers.

Thanks for the Clemson history lesson. I did not know that about Death Valley stadium. For disclosure purposes, I am a graduate of NC State.

While working at Clemson my daughter meet her future husband.
They were classmates in high school and never talked to each other.

My son's baseball team played Clemson in the first round of D-1 regional's, my on going joke it was the most old folks I have ever seen in one place. They keep rolling them in, in their wheel chairs.

No joke Clemson folks support their teams they fill up the stadium.
That's unusual in collage baseball.

Clemson baseball is very popular.
If I was into sports and did not have more interesting things to do, I might go to a baseball game.
