I recently bought a case 540 it has the 4
cylinder diesel and dual hudrolics running
to the rear im in the process of stripping
down the paint and wanna go through it and
replace gaskets on the covers because the
transmission fluid is 3x full and milky any
help would greatly be appreciated ive
looked for a vin but no luck this far every
stamped number ive found is useless
 
The serial number tag should be on the side of the instrument panel, if it's still there. Also, if it is a diesel it will be a 530 if standard tread or 531 if row crop. The 540 and 541 were gas engines originally, unless an engine swap was done. And for parts I would reccomend external_link 315-585-9826
 
You may need to replace the seals in the internal lift piston for the three point. If you search this site it has been covered many times.
