Wisconsin VH4D manifold

I have a manifold that has cracked and needs replaced. I removed this loose one from the parts inventory off of another VH4D. Is there any difference other than the way the exhaust pipe connects (porting size ?) that would render it a bad match ? My manual makes no mention of the side exhaust discharge style of manifold.

As long as it fits, I'm sure it will be fine. Seems like the weight hanging off to the side like that would be hard on the manifold. Is that why it's breaking?

All of them that we have in these harvesters has the muffler off towards the business end of the crank. I don't know if that help cause it or not. This one has always run on the warm side to the point of vapor locking at times.

It usually runs about a gallon per hour running at 2000 rpm all day. Got an electric fuel pump pushing the gas to it.

Make sure the cooling fins get cleaned regularly and an upper cylinder lubricant is helpful. My cousin ran snowmobile oil in his and it lasted for years but I don't know what ratio. I used to work at a Case dealer and our mechanic would do 2 to 3 a week in the summer. Most had cooling fins plugged solid.
