Wife found this international 2400 LB-A on marketplace last night. So we went and bought it today. Spins over good. Will run if you squirt gas in carb. Gas tank is behind the seat. Fuel pump is missing. Looks like a fun project. Anyone else have one? Opinions on it?

There is either a plug or a main jet missing on the bottom of carb bowl. Will have to find a number on it to see what's missing.

Had a similar diesel model 454 on the farm where I worked 25 years ago.it was my hay mowing, raking and round bale mover.a very user friendly and nimble tractor and very stable on uneven terrain.was not very good in muddy conditions though cause of the narrow rear tires but yours seem to have wider rears.have no idea about the gas engine though

The shifting was the downfall of those tractors , stayed stuck in gear or tore up all the time

GP I think this is an intended industrial version of the 454. It sure looks like it anyway. We had a 454 bought new to the farm. It was a good and handy tractor. Probably what you may see missing is an electric solenoid just a tad bigger than a AA battery. It screwed into the bottom of the fuel bowl to regulate gas flow. If I remember right, the engine is a C 157. The diesel engine in the 464 we traded it in on was a D 179. Wish we had both of em back.

had a 574 when main tractor was in shop used for haying cutting baling powerful but not enough wt for pa hills like said shifting linkage was a pain gasser thirsty

IF a 4 cylinder probably the same as the 574. The fuel tank has problems with rusting out along the fenders where the to are together. Dirt in the tank is a chronic problem at the outlets for plugging the lines there. I don't think they had a fuel pump just gravity flow and a solenoid at the bottom of the carb they were a problem for some also. Not limited to that model on the solenoid problem.

My town has one that looks the same except for color. It hasn't run for 4-5 years due to fuel tank rust.

Hi Grandpa Love,
That is the industrial version of the IH 454 Ag model, since it is a gas model the power train except for the gas engine would have been built by IH Doncaster, UK, plant and shipped in a crate to IH Louisville, KY, USA for final assembly.

See link below for European Manuals.
454 Service and Operator Manual

I had a 464 utility, gas back in 1979, my second tractor, first was a Super A or B forget which. I bought a Ford diesel as my next multiple tractor purchase and never went back to IH or gas tractors.....other than a JD 4020 LP that was a huge mistake. Dislikes were cold starting problems and cramped operator's station for a guy my size.
