Fry it up with some eggs. I used to eat it when i would go camping as a kid probably not had it in 30 years

I use to carry a few cans in the Army. Open the can just enough. To let the steam out. Tie the can to the exhaust manifold. Drive a few miles and you had a hot meal.

Had a slice last night, been eatin it 75 years,Mom made scalloped potato(e)s with it.............................................................the E is in case Dan Quayle reads this

My oldest son (33) just tried Spam the other day. Said he was frying it up and was going to make spam and grilled cheese sandwiches. A little while later I text him and ask him what he thought. He said it was just okay and the dog liked it a lot better than he did. Lol

I often wondered how the word was developed to describe nuisance communications. Also wonder how Spam canned meat responded to finding out about it. On the product, no canned meat can touch it in flavor and function. (Opinion based on user usage).

It was one of my main staples when I was bumming around the country in 69 trying to find myself. Can't remember eating it much since then though.

Lots of theories but one popular one is due to its use in an old Monty Python sketch, where normal breakfast dishes have Spam added to them in ever-increasing quantities, complete with a chorus of Vikings singing its praises, and drowning out everything else, much as spam does to in-boxes. Version below is one of the more complete ones I could find on short notice but contains subtitles, which you can ignore.

I can remember a hiking trip many years ago--we had one more mountain to climb and so we cooked up most of what we had left for food for breakfast rather than carry it. That included a can of Spam and another of baked beans. I'm sure you can guess the effects, and an added 'bonus' was that all the salt in the Spam made hiking on a long, steep trail without enough water even worse!
spam

My x FIL told a story of trying to sleep in North Africa during WWII in the desert. He had joined the British army. He talked of a bloody wog tunneling under him trying to get to his bully beef, which may have been an early type of spam product. Woke him up.

That is their term for corned beef. They also fed the troops canned mutton which apparently fell out of favor because of the taste.

Well the bean part may have helped jet propulsion.......... If you were climbing in the summer time and sweating, the salt in the Spam should have helped you retain water. We used to take salt pills in the summer when doing heavy manual work when I was a teen.

Some people like the stuff to me its like a hot dog . Eat One twice a year to remember why I only eat one twice a year
