30 below here this morning and still too cold to go out on the open John Deere and snowblower to clear my driveway. Good thing I have nowhere to go. I got inspired to look back at some leftover unedited video from last July when I was trying out a vintage fifties Eskimo fan. Hard to imagine needing it today. Right now the fan on the gas heater is blowing hot air just to keep me warm in the house.
Got to plug in the heater on the Massey to put a bale of hay in the feeder before dark.
Hot Summer Day

It's not that cold here in northeastern Ohio , but did we get a blast of snow last night. My little Tacoma with Sno-Dogg plow got a work out this morning. I've always been careful when plowing with all my plow trucks. Never had a transmission or engine bail on me. I've got snow stacked as high as the 8 X 9 overhead doors on my pole barn. I've got nowhere to stack any more snow. I was pushing it off to the side to make room for what may come next. I'm amazed what used snowblowers are going for. I wanted one to make a path from the house to the pole barn instead of shoveling it. I'm 70 now. I wanted to keep that trail open so I could get my generator on a trailer to the back of the house garage. I'd like to find a 30 to 34 snowblower that may need an engine. I've got a sweet 341 Kohler single cylinder that needs to be exercised.

Not as cold today as a couple days ago, was -6 this morning and is only +2 now at 4pm central time. My wife has 3-4 of those vintage fans. Noticed lately when we find one the price has gone up a lot...40-50 bucks...E SD. Nice to see summer green on your voyage with the Merc.

I was surprised to see sellers asking well over $100 for the old Eskimo fans like I have. Mine is not for sale but good to know it is worth a lot. I just like the fifties atmosphere it gives the place.
Snowing and blowing from Southeast this evening. Warmed up to -5F. :) Its miserable out there.

I bought a metal bladed fan last summer,I think it was $80.00. It will blow air from one end of the house to the other, the cheap 20 plastic box fans barely move the air in one room. The old ones are better yet.

It seems as if a Finn ought to be all settled with snow.......................................I learned a lot when I married a Maki in Duluth 50+ years ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Problem is ; I was born here. My folks were ousted from their island in Finland by the Ruskies. My dad served the Finnish Army then , came to the new country for a fresh start and got drafted here. Got sent to Guam and The Philippines. He was a 622 [ Cannoneer }. Really lucky Huh?
