5050 Allis Chalmers.......

There's a 1980 5050 Allis Chalmers tractor coming up on a local online auction.

I looked at it this morning and it looks like a clean, straight tractor with good paint and 3300 hours on the meter. The auction notes say a fuel leak at the fuel pump as the only negative. I wouldn't think that would take much to fix.

Does anyone know anything about them? Good, bad, or ugly? I've been thinking for a while about getting rid of my D19 Allis and my M Farmall and getting one tractor that would do what I currently do with both of those. This 5050 looks like it would be a lot easier to get on and off of than my D19 or M, either one.

Fiat built tractor about the same as the Oliver 1265 and the Long 460,parts available all over the place.Fuel pump leak is no problem, injection pump leak could mean some $$$.I have several of the Fiat built tractors, real good tractors in my opinion.

I have a 360 and 445 Long. Dad bought the 360 new in 1978, and the 445 came here in 1981. They have been pretty good for us.

I have the 445 long and used a different 445 and a 350 long as pto driven pump units for irrigation.i have used more user friendly tractors than these(especially when engaging the pto) .as for the engine they seem to run forever.the tac on our pump tractor 445 broke at around 8500 hrs and we used it for years after that.ricks ag parts can usually get most parts for these tractors
