Correct oil for an antique dump body

Not sure where to post it so I will try here. I have a 1949 kb5 with a pto driven dump body on it. Anyone have an opinion on the correct oil for those old dump pistons

Thanks

Can't go wrong with 10W Non detergent motor oil.
That's what most used back in the day.
Caterpillar used motor oil of varying weights in every component.

I also think reg. Hydraulic oil, not High-Trans oil
Would be fine.

I agree with TGP, don't use UTF it will suck in moisture and get milky and you will have to change it every year.

Most IH tractor hydraulic systems in that era recommend 10W non-detergen oil. I'd guess that the truck division would have been using the same recommendation.

I use tractor hydraulic oil in mine no problem the tank is under the bed you can pickup cheap universal tractor hydraulic oil for about 30 dollars for five gallon
