Fuel system 1969 Ford 4000

I believe I posted the image right.. bare with me. So I have a fuel leak on the number one in the picture. Its 3 lines. One is coming from fuel then it goes into the fuel pump looking thing and goes back into top of fuel tank. What is that fuel pump looking mechanism? Another thing the tractor has crab claws theyre loose. Should I weld them together being I cant find parts for it?

Justinscott33,

Whatever you linked is making it so that none of your post shows in Modern View.

You gotta do better than that.
Either get the picture to work or explain it better. And correct terminology counts!
That said, it sounds like you have a diesel?
And maybe the lines and fuel pump looking thing are up in front of the fuel tank?
And one line connects to the top of #3 injector and is called the leak off line?
And one line goes to the top of the fuel tank? And the last line goes down to the front end of the intake manifold and connects to a spark plug looking thing - called the thermostart heater??
That fuel pump looking thing is a reservoir for the thermostart. Ford did away with that reservoir on later models and just put a tee there. IF that is what we're talking about here, you can do the same.

If you are trying to post a photo you have to do that from the ..Choose files.. button below the .. Upload Photos/Videos.. box at the bottom of the New Post or reply pages. Or to find the actual names of parts try this, go to the link. In the search box there click the ..Type.. arrow and select model. Then type in 4000 tractor and search. Then go down the results a bit and then select the 3 cylinder or 4 cylinder model whichever you have. Then poke around there and see what you come up with. When you get into the ..subsections.. you can use ..Quick view.. to see if that section has what you are looking for. If it does you will need to click the arrow on the right to go into the actual subsection where the part names are given.

I finally figured out how to do pictures

Thanks.
That helps a lot.
You could run it as is pretty much forever.
If you look up the same parts on a 4600 you would see thet didn't use that little reservoir. They just used a tee.
I dont have my thermostart hooked up. So just have the leak off line going from #3 injector straight to the fuel tank.

Sounds good then. Also I have crab claw on the three point that are loose as all get out. Could I find parts for them or should I just weld them up fixed. If I do that Id probably end up buying a quick hitch for it.

I would be loathe to just weld them up solid.
They are so handy when hooking up an implement. They ARE a bit floppy and loose. Not like the solid ones on say, a 3000.
I suspect they were even when new. They do come apart quite easily so maybe take them apart and see. I suspect you might be able to weld a bit in the slot where the pen is pointing and grind them back to a better fit.
This one is off my Ford 4450 and are the same as yours.
