I know this question has been asked a zillion times but my replacement clutch disk does not have a marking to show what side goes to flywheel and my manual does not show it either there is a step on center of the disk one side is significantly less can someone tell me which direction it goes there is to much work for me to guess thank you

Interesting that it is not marked. The side that the center cushion springs set in that raises the highest above the face of the lining surface goes inside the pressure plate cover. Or said another way faces the back of the tractor where the seat is. To make this go well hopefully you have gotten an alignment tool to center the clutch during assembly. A second check you can make is to place the plate on the alignment tool in the orientation I described and hold it against the flywheel with the alignment tool in the pilot bearing and turn it. The plate should turn smoothly, the lining surface sliding against the flywheel. It should not be held away by hitting the flywheel bolts as an example.

Thank you for the info i suspected this but again i would hate to split it again based on an assumption thanks again
