Big Warm Up

The first day in January that we got above 0F. In fact we hit a high of +30F in the afternoon so it felt like spring. Hardly any wind. Good day for snow blowing and I put in a few hours in the afternoon with the 2140 JD and old McKee Econoplow. Ran out of daylight but got enough done to get by with for now. I've got to read up on how to adjust that three point hitch response. It keeps letting the blower ride up unless I hold the lever forward which makes it really hard to control the depth. I'm either missing snow or scraping up gravel most of the time it seems.

(quoted from post at 20:26:51 01/11/22) Need to turn the draft setting to position instead of draft
There is a little lever down under the seat with several different settings. I tried changing but could not notice any difference. I need to take a better look at it when I have more time and light. And also the operator's manual should give me a clue.
I'm just so used to the home built 3 point on the Cockshutt 40. Lever always in neutral except when I wanted to change the cutting depth. And thats where it stayed until I raised or lowered it.

Does the lever have position L L/D D ? We had the January
thaw last week warmed up and rained like it does every year
now its back to cold again

It looks that way in the manual. Looks like I need it set in "min" for height control. The book mentions that the lever should stay in the selected position but mine always climbs back unless I hold it down. I'll try the "min" position on the rockshaft.

I'll bet there is a bolt at the base of the lever with a friction disc to help hold the lever. All case tractors have that and I know Ford and IH do too. I'll bet aturn or two onboat bolt and the lever will stay

You are right as I found after reading through the operators manual. I'll see if I can get it set so that the lever stays where I put it but still not too hard to move when I want to change cutting depth.
