Ideas on loading a tractor with only one rear wheel

No loader available, no large tree limb over tractor to use a block and tackle to get the tractor on trailer. Any ideas? Thought about fabricating a skid of some sort.

Depending on the deck height of the trailer, you could remove the other wheel, put down some rubber mats and winch it up.

How big is the tractor? little Cub or JD 4020? Also how far do you have to move it? If local a rollback wrecker might work.

Maybe some planks or a steel skid plate under the broken side?
I've done both. You may have to have a chain attached to the plate
or planks to help them move along.

Only one rear wheel as in just a bear axle or does it still have the wheel center?? If just a bear axle you might be able to jack it up and put as large of a car/truck rim you can on it and while it would not be right it would roll

Pretty hard to come up with a plan when no idea on the trailer u have or if u have a winch. Or the size of the tractor. Its not that hard to do anyhow. Get a log under it chain it to the tractor and drag it up of course u need a chain saw to cut the log on a slant at the front not to catch on stuff.

JD 420W, one rear wheel is missing, and no where to be found on the property, tractor is blocked up on one side in the rear. I have a JD 420w at home but my tires are weighted and Im not taking one off to haul it 75 miles to put on the junk tractor, trying to see now if the guy will just let me come pull parts off his tractor and sell me the parts I want, he wont give me a straight up price of what he wants for it and Im about tired of fooling with him. Have had two other offers on junk 420w JDs, one owner wanted $2000 for his tractor with rotten tires and had not ran in 14 years and other 420 had broken tranny not ran in over 20 year wanting $2000, then one owner had a wide front JD 40 parts tractor wanting $3500. These folks will be wanting for a long time, Im not paying for their sentimental memories of grandpas tractor or what they think the John Deere trademark is worth, if it dont run it aint worth but scrap price and even then if you have to go cut trees and vines down to retrieve it and work your butt off to load it then its not worth as much as scrap price in my opinion

Yep easier than I thought its a tonka toy. I would still do the log or railroad tie thing and tie it to the front so it slides with the tractor and drag it up. Even if you hollow out the tie so the hub fits in it would be a good thing too. Or even get someone with a front end loader to hold up the no tire side as u drag it up. This is not a hard job.

Wrecker truck with one of those tilt slide beds that come clear down to the ground. Wench it on. Just let it slide/scrape. Might have to get a board under it where it's going to catch on the bed of the truck. Wrecker truck operator may have some further ideas. They have probably seen worse situations if any experience in thier field at all.
I'm saying this presuming you are just wanting this one for parts and further damage is of no concern.

When I was young the family's GVI MM broke a rear axle several times.

The implement company would retrieve it for repairs using a tilt-bed implement truck with a heavy-duty winch.

They would jack up the wheel-less side enough to get a large "one-way" disc blade under the axle housing and set it down in the dished blade.

The disc blade had a heavy loop of rod welded to it that that they would attach a chain to, and rig a chain setup to pull on the disc blade and the front of the tractor evenly, and simply skid it up on the bed with the winch.

SCARY to watch, even at a young age, but it worked, and this was a 800-9000 pound tractor!

I'm thinking, what good is a tractor with only one rear wheel?
I would find a second wheel. Sounds dangerous to load anything with one wheel and then transport it without a second wheel.

Sounds like you are trying to reinvent the wheel.

Please don't get hurt.

Ive got a tandem axle 7x14 dump bed trailer, aint thought about it . Could take it to the tractor location and mount a winch in my trailer and load her up

Wish I had a picture, saw on a Facebook Cub group where a guy made a wheel out of several sheets of plywood. Bolted it on to roll tractor around shop while repairing rims and waiting on tires. Pallet repair places sell 1/2 sheets of plywood cheap....

Is just the tire/rim missing or tire, rim and center disc ? (only axle/hub left ?) You could move it a little on just the center disc , if everything is missing down to the hub or axle I would try to beg or borrow something that bolts up .

Ya gotta be careful around them bear axles.

Or throw the removed wheel centered under the differential chain it there and drag it on/drag it off. Jim

No rear wheel center no nothing on one side, the guy said he was just going to dismantle the tractor piece by piece and I could come buy what I want. GP Love interested in some of his stuff, the 8N and the JD H.
The man offered me the JD 420 and JD H both for $700 but I declined the offer.

Implement would come with a tilt bed truck, large rolling jack with some planking to pick up tractors with broken axles under corn pickers in the day. Get the tractor in the air with jacks and blocking and then get the truck-trailer set up so it can be winched on resting on the rolling jack.

Grayrider, that would be a steel in my hood. Lots of parts there. Tell him $1000.00 for the 2 Deeres and the Ford.

Just thought about using a large wood spool for a rear wheel, if I used both spool ends to make it thicker even better and stronger

Im done with N series Fords, and really dont want the H John Deere, Grandpa Love has shown interest in the 8N and the JD H and I passed the guys number over to him. Im fond of the old two cylinder JDs like the M, 40, 420 and 430 series
