OT What are these for?

I don't get burned at sales much, but I bought a box of floodlights which turned out to be a box of these things with a couple floodlights on top to hide them. Box says reflector bulb and use a ceramic receptacle, so they get hot. Not the color I am used to in a brooder light and they are small for that. So not thinking chickens or pigs. Not a holiday color...at least not here. Make for a lousy outdoor light being blue. Any ideas?

No way! I think it would say so on the outer sleeve. I don't think so. These look nothing like plant lights.

Looks like it could be an ultra-violet plant grow light. Check the base for a spectrum or color range or plug one in and try it.

The link below is a lot of reading ..... focused on heat lamps for reptiles, etc. which need neat to maintain body temperature (cold blooded). Interesting stuff .... blue is one of several options to use for whatever reasons.

Got any friends with Ford tractors? They could use them for shop lights and improve the paint jobs. Just a thought...

Dunno. I've never seen blue heat lamps. I can only assume they're blue for stage lighting or Hanukkah celebrations.

I don't think it's for any particular purpose, just a blue colored, indoor, reflector light.

They came in many colors, red, amber, green... Stage lighting, mood lighting, commercial lighting, whatever the occasion.
