But, winter has finally arrived.

Nice pic, Rockyridge.

If winter is defined by snow, it's come and gone here a few times already. The snow currently here is due to melt again today, leaving mud I wish would just freeze and be over with until March. As they say in Minnesota: "Could be worse."

I don't like mud, but my 'keep the driveway clear' tractor finally died (long expected), and I'm appreciating not having to shovel as I get it resurrected with a replacement rebuilt engine that should be done next week some time. Then it can snow, and probably will. To excess.

It looks to me like you need to get a big old electric conveyor from a quarry to load your wood onto instead of those wire baskets. You load the wood onto it with your tractor every two or three weeks then turn it on for just a few seconds to get a half dozen chunks to the end at just a little higher than the boiler door.

Yeah, I do not really need that. I burn maybe three crates a week when it goes below zero. Much less other times. I have only about 6 crates all season so far. But this coming weekend will bring up the total. Low of -7 Sunday night.

What do I see in the picture? I understand the baskets of wood and I see a fire burning inside something, but what is it and how
does if perform the heating function for whatever you are trying to heat with all that wood?

Do you really not have those down there?
