I hope someone can help with this. I have searched far and wide for a starter for my machine with no luck. The oem part number has been worn off and I contacted case and they gave me 2 numbers that bring me to starters that have the bendix opening on the opposite as mine? Ivan see a couple of the numbers in the area that has been worn down and they are not what case provided. I appreciate any thoughts suggestions or if you have a 500e if you could send me the number on your starter. Thanks much.

Can't help with numbers, but have you been to a starter/alternator electrical shop?

They see all kinds of starters, might could fix yours or put something together from the bone pile.

If there is not a shop near by, find one close, make some calls, send them pictures.

. Not a bad idea, I appreciate it. This one was sluggish, then I heard a horrible noise. Found the end of the starter had broken off. Never seen anything like it.

Yes, have it rebuilt,I haven't bought a starter in decades. Ask
your favorite local mechanic where to have it done.

If you have a D155 diesel this may work Delco Number 1107867
I see them for sale for about $250.00'
Research carefully before you spend money.

I think thats a good call.

I took it to a starter shop and that is the number he came up with too.

Ordered one on Amazon for $178 and will keep my fingers crossed.

Thanks so much for the info!
