Marx toys restoration

Perry and I both belong to the Antique Engine and Tractor Assn. in Geneseo, Ill. Great guy!!

I saw that article. Wish I still had my climbing crawler that made sparks. Loved it when I was young.

That croller on the right front of the table looks very simular to one I have had since it was new. Don't rember what year I got it as it was before years ment anything to me so I have had it over 70 years now. I don't ever remebering a man but could have had. It never had anything on the hood like that one and my wheels are black not silver. Every thing else looks the same. I had the front blade but after a move I cannot find it. My tracks are still veru good.

Many years ago my brother and I found where Mom had stashed our Christmas presents - a wind up bulldozer for each of us. At every opportunity we got them out of her closet and played with them, then carefully put them back. We had them nearly worn out before we opened them on Christmas morning. We thought we had her fooled but in hindsight, I doubt it. Boys having fun.

I think I can remember seeing those toys in stores when I was a kid. I did have a little army tank type toy that wound up and would shoot sparks out the barrel. Long gone. I'll have to dig up the old wind up Marx train set I got at a farm auction many years ago.

Looking through my 1952-53 Eatons catalogue I think I see some Marx toys. Pretty reasonably priced too.

That is amazing they lasted this long : now the junk you buy is plastic and its broke in a week in not a day

thankyou very much SVcummins for posting the link.
and thankyou rusty6 for the photo of the catalog.

my dads eyes lit up when he talked about his two marx wind up tractors. Dad said one of his crawlers was similar to the dual rear drive near the illustration H in the photo.
Dad said he proudly brought his two tractors with him to the first day of first grade, in a one room school house in the fall of 1939. Dad was very proud of his tractors but he remembers being mocked and
ridiculed for bringing tractors to school.
