2915 Chev Silverado experts - passenger side turn signal

I am having turn signal problems with my 2015 Chevrolet Silverado. It likely needs two new bulbs in the taillight assembly. When you move the turn signal lever to make a right hand turn the blinker makes like 2 or 3 normally spaced sounds and flashes on the dash. After about 3 blinks and noises it speeds up with the dash blinking not quite twice as fast as the should. At the same time the words something like malfunctioning or inoperative right turn signal appears on the dash. Side rear view mirrors blink properly. Is this probably due to blown out bulbs. Bought pickup new and have never replaced tail light bulbs. Brake lights and tail lights work OK. There is a wealth of knowledge here so I thought I should ask rather that reinventing the wheel myself. Thanks.

When it does that, go back and see if they are flashing. Could be bad bulbs, bulb socket damaged from heat, or a poor ground. Probably bulbs, but the others do occur.

The sockets are probably melted in the rear, pretty common on those. You'll have to buy the taillight harness to repair. It's not that expensive from gm.

Before you start, turn on the side that works properly, look closely at what lamps are flashing.

Then compare that to what happens when you turn on the other side. It only takes one lamp not working to set the fast flash mode.

Don't make it harder than it is. You have a bulb not working, find out which one and fix it.

Might be a bulb, first thing to check. Most likely something else though, they are known for other problems.

Nothing, and I do mean nothing, is as simple as it used to be.

I would advise him to check out the forum chuck machinist mentioned. There is plenty of info there.

There is one easy, can't-go-wrong way to find out.

The bulbs need to be replaced, so replace them or pay someone to get them replaced.
