$3.699 for the cheapest stuff available here in the northernmost regions of the Peoples Progressive Paradise of NY

Well when i stater driving gas was 16.9 a gallon for high test at the pump . If i bought my gas thru the company and paid cash i got 3 cents off that . around 65 there was a huge jump in gas prices and we were now paying 19 .9 a gallon less the company discount . Everybody was up in arms over it . Then the gas wars started and prices were like a yo yo . when i came back to the world in 68 i was feeding my new Road Runner the good stuff and it was now ranging in the mid twentys and i had lost my company discount over a union split and i was not able to transfer my book so i lost my job and my old local was stratchen for work as i was now on the floater board . So i had to find a new job . New car and no job , fun times for a nam vet .

Not sure what's happening, guess the price of crude went up enough to be profitable to produce.

About 90% of our orders at work are for down hole drilling.

We're completely swamped with work! And December is typically our slowest month!

3.55 in Northern Illinois for regular. I've had six or seven appts: at the Monroe clinic just over the Wi. line recently so I've been gassing up in Wi. for 3.09.

No doubt we can be thankful for lower fuel prices. $3.99 for diesel here. What we need to remember is this is only a temporary fix. Expect prices of fuel to rise with the rest of inflation.

Before I went to the Nam, I had a GTO which I could only burn Shell (ethel) or FS (tractor gas) regular out of the farm tank. High compression engine would ping on any other gas.

Its always fun to hear the low prices people say they paid yrs ago Gas prices have been near or above 30 cents since earky 50s. Look up the history of gas prices by the yr they are listed

Back in early/mid 60's when I was first driving there was an off-brand "Clay's" station in Wingdale NY that was consistently $.25 a gallon for regular, although big name stations were all at about $.30 +/-.

Man, quite a range comparing different parts of the country. Up here we're looking at about $1.28 CDN per litre in central Alberta .... which comes out to about $3.77 USD per US gallon (3.78 litres per US gallon and an exchange rate of about $0.78 USD/CDN dollar. Sounds like good old Uncle Joe is your gas buddy now for many of you south of the 49th. Merry Christmas to him and everyone else down there from the great white (and cold) north.

You gotta be kidding. A year ago gas averaged $2.28, the year before it was $2.63. This year it's average is $3.49, $3.69 is lowest price locally. Yeah, good old China Joe, the Drooling Idiot, is doing great...for himself!
