Fair Price??

This critter is coming up on a local on-line auction. I'm wondering what a fair price would be for it. Bidding hasn't started yet.

It's described as a '52 8N, says it needs tuning, been is storage and isn't running.

Last week, a '43 M Farmall with good paint, wide front end, and power steering sold on the same auction for $1925, which I thought was about right.

maybe 600-800.00 tops. those tractors are way overpriced to start with. as i say the ihc is twice the tractor so twice the money is ok.

Might want to inspect closely.

Unable to determine from the photo but the cylinder head appears to be silver colored.

If it has the rare aftermarket Sherman aluminum cylinder head, the head is worth more than the tractor.

Another picture.

The head is blue, and it looks like the spark plugs were painted over.

its just too bad people spoil stuff with a so called paint job and think they are doing something good, when all they are doing is lowering the value. original is always worth the most money when dealing with not too common stuff.

Dean, I've never heard of a Sherman aluminum head.

What did it do that would have made it so valuable?

Could a different head make that much performance difference for that application?

my guess it is not in working condition of any kind. Block is cracked , head is warped or cracked. some one wanted to rip some one off and gave it an aerosol job. I bought a rebuilt engine in crate like that once. found out the guy had taken all wrecked heads and block clean the outside up and painted the same blue as that tractor got. You know the color all rebuilders use. took it to a reputable shop and they showed me all the cracks. back yard scam artist.

Those are NOT 9N,2, 8N or NAA rear wheels. The 8N did have the small hub tho along with the NAA that was overhead valve engine others being flat head. Could they be Ferguson 20-30-35 wheels?
