OT Computor

This is OT but without them there would be no place like this for information. I was off line since having moved last August untill last week I got hooked up again. At about 2 days in there evidently was a problem and computor got completely scrambled for a couple of minutes. Then it came back up and is working as should but it lost my favoried bar and I cannot find a way to get it back again. Computor dummy. It is an older Windows 7 model but running on Firefox for several years now and everything is working except that missing favorites bar. It is an older dect type and I cannot afford or even want a portable unit. In dummy simple terms how do I get that favorites bar back? Thanks and I am glad to be back here, I have missed so much.

Describe "completely scrambled" please.

I'm concerned you may have been hacked and now your computer and any personal information that may be stored on it is compromised.

I'm not sure I'm exactly following you but do you think its your bookmark toolbar that you are just missing in Firefox?
If so go to View...Toolbars...Bookmarks Toolbar... and click on always on.

Try this: RIGHT-Click on a blank area of the toolbar, menu or tabs area at the top of your browser window. That should bring up a menu that has several options, including 'Bookmarks Toolbar'. If you put your mouse cursor on 'Bookmarks Toolbar', you should get a submenu with the options 'Always Show', 'Only Show on New Tab' and 'Never Show'. Select 'Always Show'.

Or, you can simply use the shortcut 'Ctrl-Shift-B', which should toggle the bookmarks toolbar on and off.

Scrambled like a jigsaw puzel and dump it and stirr the pictures around and all at once the pacture was put back together. And as far as personal information the most would be what I have put here on YT and when I ordered parts from them a couple of years ago.

> In simple terms (for a simple mind) what is a browser window?

In Windows, or any other windowing user interface, a window is the area of the graphical display in which an application's user interface runs. For the non-technical user, the window IS the application.

In this particular case, the 'browser' is the Firefox application. So in simplest terms, the browser window is Firefox.

I just toss mine out in the yard and drive a tractor over it. Several times maybe. Clears out a lot of frustration.

Then I drive my EV into town to the computer store for a new one.

A browser is what you are looking at right now, despite whether you are on YT, Facebook, ebay, CL, etc............

If you do not have a browser open, you are likely looking at a plain blue screen, or possibly whatever picture you, (or someone) chose to display.

I'm not sure about Windows 7, but that does not work on my computer. He does not have a "Bookmarks Bar" so he cannot click on it.

This may work.
Top right corner of your screen is an X. Under that X should be 3 horizontal bars. Right click on the 3 bars.

A small window should open. Scroll down to "Bookmarks Toolbar"
Another small window should open. Click on "Always Show"
