I had a 1x12x10ft

Tulip poplar. Had it drying in rafters of old pole barn. Had to cut it to haul in my car to other pole barn where I keep my wood tools. This is what it looked like after running it through the planner.

This is the finished project.
I only make things I can't buy. I built this bathroom 22 years ago. I know where I pit the studs and I wanted this anchored to the studs. Tenants are ruff on things.

I also painted it with my universal paint that I use in all rentals. Figured I'll be cheap and make it easy to touch up in the future.
All this cost me

Was my time.

What do you think of my design? Tenants like it.

As I said earlier, I am not showing that to Miss V.
I would have to build a couple of those.
It looks very well made.
You did good.

Looks good. Nice job.
Not sure that I could get away with going into an occupied unit to do trinket home improvements. My tenants would probably tell me to not be invading thier privacy everytime I want to come over with a towel holder.
A friend of mine, rented out a unit, a mobile unit of all things, to a young guy and his sister. He kept one lockable bedroom for personal storage. Of course, since he's the landlord, he has a key to the main house. He goes down there whenever he wants. Tenants home or not. Puts something in/takes something out of that storage bedroom. That just seems like it would be a very awkward situation. Something I am suprized a tenant would agree to up front/deal with after. I don't know how he gets away with this, with his tenants.
I'm not going off on you. I'm just saying. You didn't specify details. Your tenants very well could of requested a towel holder for all I know.

My contracts have a right of access clause for repairs.
I have emergency contact numbers in case their phones have been turned.

I don't like working around rugrats, tricycle motors, and curtain climbers so I do upgrades when units are vacant. That's when I made this project.
