Grandpa's Loader Cylinder

I noticed that the cylinder was a one way with no down pressure. I stated that it looked like a one way after many people told how to rebuild. Docmirror reported that it was one way. Hope that Grandpa did not make this a bigger problem.

i thought he knew or even posted one way , the picture he drew is also one way. plus those 4000 ihc swathers have 2 one way cyl's on the header. i dont know what stroke he has though as it was not posted.

A double acting cyl can be used, I've done it in some places because single acting cyl are getting hard to find. I've also used sleeves in a bore to change the end pin size, used slightly longer, and rarely slightly shorter. With a welder and grinder, I can make any similar stroke fit eventually.

I have have changed longer stroke cyl.s by pulling the piston
and rod out then remove the piston and add a piece of pipe
over the rod to shorten the stroke. Have done this on 24
stroke to reduce it to 20.
