Golden girls getting a drink, and other shots

So the past few weeks have been a blur... but harvest is more or less finished. There's a couple acres left, everything is full, and I'm tired of listening to the corn dryer in the evenings. :)

Late this afternoon I brought the Minnie back from another farm up the road. We used it to bin about 15000 bushels up there. I pulled in to the gas tank, and the A was already there, so an impromptu photo
shoot came to be.

The A my grandfather bought ne in 1950, the MM U is a '51. My grandfather's brothers and sister had some very similar U's- including a '49 and '52 that lurk in the shadows here. I'm sure the A stopped at
the watering hole with those U's many a time back in the day.

The bin shot has my son hauling corn to a 3rd location with the big tractor, and the 70 loading a semi bound for Chicago on Monday.

The last is of the 4020 blowing corn into a 20x70 silo with an aeration floor... we had 3 tractors and six wagons on this chore Monday.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you tomorrow. May it be a blessed day!

:)

I liked the one a few months ago about can I store fuel in a plastic barrel (maybe tote) in my shed? What could go wrong? :)

Youre Oconomowoc correct? Where was the Minnie dealer in southeast WI? Just curious, I dont have any MM tractors, just an old pull type disc.

I'm told there was a really good in one in Dousman, just south of Oconomowoc. Indeed, the on road my great uncles and aunt lived on, for about a two mile stretch, most every farm had a Minnie! Oconomowoc had a Deere dealer, and there were a couple IH dealers around as well.

I've never run an MM. I'd like to try that nice looking one. They always intrigued me. There were none around here. It's been about 56 years since I've run a two cylinder JD much. I didn't enjoy it then, and doubt I would now.

Interesting how many dealers there used to be. I grew up in southwest Wisconsin and the Deere dealer was CB&C, now Sloans. Moved between Lake Geneva and Burlington several years ago and there is an IH dealer, Otters in Burlington, seems the closest Deere dealer is Midstate equipment maybe in Janesville. Nice looking tractors you have, good to see them working.

When I started farming in '68 Case was the main tractor, but I had a 44 A for chores and pull the manure spreader. Hand crank and when it got below zero in the winter I had Dad's B to belt the 44 to get it running. Wouldn't mind finding a 44 A to go with the 85+ Case tractors here.

Love the pictures and you guys sure have been busier than a cow calving! Happy Thanksgiving to all friends to the south!

And concrete cracks and now it still leaks into the ground through the concrete and hydrocarbons will soak through concrete into ground anyway so why does that make it so proper other than some co-called self important fool said so.

Very true... I doubt mine is cracked, though, as I need to syphon water out on a regular basis from rain. The best part of the wall is it keeps people from running into the tanks. Trust me, the wall has been hit a few times!
