I have a Kohler gas motor on a comperssor, it's a single cylinder motor. The tag is off the motor. Anyone have any idea how I can find the model of the
motor. The motor is around 20 years old. Thanks, Stan

Should be if older flat head , the ks have the number cast into the block just above the crankshaft
Example .
K241,K301,K321,andK341.
Im not familiar with the smaller Kohler sizes or I would include them
This is one way to tell what you got
Another thing is the k301 thru the k341 all have the same stroke crankshaft .just bore is different . Some larger crank cu in have counter ballenced crankshaft?
The other way is the tag on the fan shroud ,but shroud can be swapped out in repairs

Assuming it is a K series a good starting point would be to count the cylinder head bolts.

7 bolts = K 161, K 181

9 bolts = K241, K301, K 321

10 bolts = K341

If you go to the Kohler website they have all the service and owner manuals free to download.

The service manual covers all the K series and is a very good detailed source for about any information you may want or need.

Everyone assumes it is a K series. If it is only 20 years old it would more likely be either a Magnum or a Command. Is it overhead valve?

A picture would sure help.
