I am restoring a early ford 39 9n and hate to put another tire on the rear. Wondering if anyone out there in tractor land might have a pair of new or like new 9.5x32 firestone field and road stashed away for a project thats not going to happen. Doing it for show so would like to have some name brand tires that might have came on it.

Here below is a very dated (2003) question and reply from right here on the YT site archives ....

Original Post - My tractor needs a new rim. Both rear tires are marked 9.5 x 32. I am having trouble even finding anyone who carries such. Was this an odd size? Maybe an outdated numbering system?
Any help appreciated.

Reply - The ORIGINAL 9N rear tire was 8 X 32, renumbered by government& the tire industry safety guys in late 50's to 9.5 X 32 using the same 32 rim. In mid 1941, N's started coming from factory with 10 X 28, renumbered to 11.2 X 28 using same 28 rims by same government guys. The amazing thing is, they ALL have the SAME outside diameter/circumference. And UNLESS you are ABSOLUTELY insistent on finding old time 9.5 X 32 tires and matching rims (read BIG $$$), I'd suggest you consider the merits of new 11.2 X 28 tires and rims. Remember, 9N/2N rear rims are the same but are DIFFERENT THAN 8N's rear rims. Then sell your good 32 rim to some originality N-Restorer who will be happy to help pay for your new tires and rims.

Try Miller Tire in Ohio, they specialize in hard to find tires. They travel to some shows every summer and will transport to show to save shipping. However stock your wallet first. Anything hard to find will not be cheap. joe
