JD 8640 oil pressure

I have a customer who just lost engine oil pressure & tach drive. First I thought it was pump, but when he said he lost his tach & I ckd the tach drive & it wasnt turning its got to be what drives them both. Ive never been in one of these. Any ideas? Thanks
 
free parts book on the JD web site . Both drive gears have to be replaced as a pair . Or you get to do this all over again soon .

To be more exact, oil pump gear is driven from a gear made as part of the camshaft.

Tach drive gear drives off of the opposite side of the oil pump gear.

When cam and oil pump gears wear and strip oil pump gear stops so the tach gear is no longer being turned.
