a little snow pushing.

had to fire up the super 6 and do a bit of snow clearing today. now i need to replace the seal on the left lower cylinder , as it started leaking. other than that it works good for snow.

Speaking of replacing cylinder seals, I have one that I need to replace.
What is your source for buying those seals?? I doubt my local go to parts place is going to be able to come up with those. I thought I had some extra new ones in the box with the tool for replacing those, but they seem to be used ones that have been taken out.

once i get it apart i will just take it to Edmonton to fluid power. set it on the counter they will measure it and give me the seals.

Our next door neighbor had a W6 with a hand clutch, it was slick for the square baler. He was only about 54 tall, and had a block of wood bolted to the clutch pedal. I never minded the clutch pedal, being tall enough, I could always reach it comfortably, and running one from an early age, it just seemed natural to me.

ooh yes the country was full of them. hardly could drive by a farm without seeing one of these or the john deere D. the 6 was a very good all around tractor. learned to drive ours at around five years old, i could not push the clutch in so dad just had me stop and start it in low gear picking rocks, by hand that is. ooh reminds me that was a 6 volt battery also back then and guys worried now about switching to 12 volt. no better way to learn to drive a tractor in the wide open field. we got the 560 ih when i was 10 years old and i was discing with it in the field . it seamed big back then.

i have never saw a 6 with a hand clutch. good to know. i know the orchard models had them.

Beautiful pic, thanks for sharing , as long as you share pics only,
here in west Mo, we're on the verge of getting late 1st crop and double crop soybeans
done! Deer season on here too..
Have a great weekend. GG

Still brown and dry south of Calgary. Wouldn't mind seeing some snow down here. How far do you have to go for your parts rustred. We have a really good john deere dealership 24 km from the farm. I'm red and blue here though so need to go 120 kms to get parts for those and my old tractors.

You say left lower cylinder which implies to me that there is a left upper cylinder. Can you explain further? I thought that Farmhand loader had 2 lower cylinders and a cable system for bucket angle control with the cables being controlled by one cylinder operating vertically behind the tractor driver. (a little hard to see in your photo)

i am 17 miles from westlock, they have a john deere dealership and case ih also. plus kobota and fendt dealers along with white and massey . for stuff like seals easiest just to drive an hr. to edmonton.

here is another pic. that is the cyl running on the bottom, one on each side. that other trip one is at the back and is not being used for the trip . its just those 2 long cylinders that lift it. they are longer than the tractor.

I have a F10D on a IH M with duals. used it to feed loose hay and round bales for years. On a local ranch here there is a W4 with JD Model 52 loader(simuliar to Farmhand, only W4 I've seen, No W6's but several WD9's
No snow yet but likely will have some soon 6000 ft .elevation.<b
r>Love your photos and videos.

Thanks, rustred. It's the same as what I thought. Words can be a bit hard to contemplate on this medium!
