4430 powershift

I am looking at a 4430 coming up on auction. It has the 8 speed powershift tranny. All we have ever owned has been quad-ranges and am wondering what to look for when buying one. Also wondering how to tell if the powershift is still good/has problems. Our 4430 with a quad-range has over 10,000 hours and am wondering how many you can get out of a powershift. Thanks

Those 8 speed powershifts are tough as nails. Make sure it shifts well into each gear. Biggest issue would likely be if the damper clutch slips between the engine and transmission... that would cause a hesitation usually shifting into 8th, especially with a load. That is a relatively cheap fix compared to other trans issues.

Might be sure to check PTO function, and that it stops when it is supposed to.
