9N electronic ignition question

The round coil kit for the 9N from YD store is 280 freaking dollars. They offer the spark plug thingy and distributor cap with the the threaded receiver separately but not the plate. If you have your own round coil and coil wire you can do it yourself without the 280 dollar kit if you had the plate too. Why don't they offer the plate? I can't get anybody on the phone to answer that question. So I'm asking it here.

When GM went to HV ignition back in the 60-70's they had issues with distributor and
rotors shorting out. Too much voltage,

I can't see converting to electronic high voltage ignition.

I remember some first generation, or early generation, aftermarket electronic
ignitions where they used the points, removed condenser and points turned a power
transistor on and off. Points lasted forever. Primary current went through transistor,
very little current went through point.

Keep in mind my memory isn't as good as it used to be. I had one so I may be a little
off of how it worked.

Do you or anyone here reading this know what 12 volt square can coil ohms reading should be?
