Picked this up today. Had to test it. Why is it so darn slow??? Tank is about half full of fluid.

If it seems to have adequate power, but is slow, most likely lack of pump volume capacity. The pump om my JD A is 10gpm. and it is fairly quick.

It's all in the math. There are formulas that use the pump volume, RPM, and cylinder piston area to determine speed and force.

Assuming the cylinder and pump are in good working order, and the relief valve is correct, and not leaking...

To speed it up, you'll need to either:

a. Speed up the pump.

b. Put on a higher volume pump.

c. Put on a smaller bore cylinder.

But understand, doing any of these will reduce the force of the cylinder and increase the load on the engine. But there should be plenty of available power.

Is the suction side hose kinked?

Is the suction hose big enough? Should be double the size of the pressure side hose and the size of the port on the pump.
