The description plainly says This assembly does not shut off the fuel So what good is the part if it doesn't shut off the fuel. It has a 'valve' on it, but what does the valve do? Sure makes is unusable. I installed one on a friend's John Deere B and sure enough, it doesn't shut off the fuel.

It's for appearance, not functionality. It needs to be used with another valve to actually shut off the fuel. I searched for AA499R which is the OEM part number. There IS a replacement bowl assembly from New Paris Tractor that looks like the original AND is functional, but it's $174 vs. $44.

Ron, I would not worry about it, you got it straightened out is the main thing. And secondly you came back and made a reply so we know someone is at least attempting to give this some attention on your end. Many times on here that seems to be severely lacking. I am 59 and find myself having more and more trouble with dyslexia ..had to look up how to spell that.. And some days I work with over a 1,000 4 digit numbers, luckily I have a computer and spreadsheets that copies and moves them without error. Keep on keeping on.. as Red Green would say ..I am pulling for you, we are all in this together.. or something like that.
