My helping hand

Some years ago I built a tripod to help me in lifting stuff.
The tubes are 1 1/2 X 1 1/2 inch square aluminum tubing. The tubes are fourteen feet long. It has a one ton hand winch mounted on one leg.
This has helped me in many and all of my lifting task. Probably the only thing I have not lifted is a butcher hog.

Last month I used it to replace the tires on my Farmall M. My dad taught me to do it on the tractor with the tires standing up. I think this way is easier.

With the tire held up I am able to insert the tube and partially inflate it to ensure all wrinkles are smoothen out. I use plenty of baby powder.

Finally just a matter of letting the tire down and working it over the rim.

Looks a LOT safer than the engine hoist in the garage on the ladders and five gallon buckets someone posted a while back!!
