I need to quit doing this

Every time something brakes, or I think it does. I fear the worst, and just start tearing into the what I think may be the problem. Last tractor related
was my JD started loosing power and finally stopped. It has to be the fuel filter. I thought. I take off to buy another one. Install it, and tractor
runs great. then after a while the same thing. Come to find out the lift pump was weak. I happened to have a spare. been working ever since. Today the
pump in my wife's not mine fish pond quit. The pump had something stuck in the impellor. Motor windings must be bad it didn't work. I yank it out take
it apart to change motor windings with a used part. 1 1/2 hours later. The problem was the motor had a overload protection. All I would have had to do
is let the motor cool after I freeded the impellor. Not all bad, I did get a small mowing job done. So how is your day going? Stan

I directed aluminum casting in sand
Tur ing 1155 dyerl into a centerpunch. Maki g sheet metal pans. Welding with gas, Smaw, MIG, brazing, and vertical milling. No one got injuries, or ruined machines. Success!

I installed a new basement window into my house with stone foundation and post and beam construction, requiring a new window frame which I built from scratch out of PT lumber. I am in a lot of pain now, and I have some finishing touches to do tomorrow but it is weather tight for tonight. Oh, almost forgot, it incorporates a dryer vent.

I had water in basement. Used a sump pump. One with a shut off float that is connected by a cord. Water was not quit high enough to kick the pump on. So I propped it up so the pump would run. Was gone a little to long (not watching it). Pump ran for a bit while dry and quit running. I said, well probly have to buy a new pump for next time. Well, next time came before I got a new one bought. So tried the old one just to see if I could make it work again. Turned out it still worked. Must of fixed itself by just cooling off. All I can think of. Have used it 2 or 3 times since. Works fine. I don't leave float shut off propped up and not watching it, anymore.

My biggest senior moment. I replaced fuel filter and forgot to connect gas line to carb. I kept cranking engine while standing in a puddle of gas on concrete floor.
Only good thing, engine didn't fire off without gas or I wouldn't be posting here today,

Hope your problems don't lead to senior moments.

Geo Our problems don't lead to senior moments. They ARE senior moments.

I started taking a Honda 3813 apart because I thought the engine was locked up. Wrong, it must be a bad starter or an electrical problem. More wasted effort.

I do that. Every time I fear the worst it's usually worse than I think. Once in a while I will get lucky and it will be as bad as I fear.
