Got it all back together and fired it up. Wasn't running exactly right. Took a break and went grocery shopping. Got back and tinkered around a bit. Decided to pull the carb off and have a look. Sure enough one tiny hole was plugged up. Tried everything to get it cleaned out, no go. Realized we had a parts carb with the same bottom half. Swapped it, stuck it on tractor and we running like a Deere! Was out driving it around the yard in the cold, dark, rain! Lol.

How do you get that brass tube out?

This 'screw' won't budge...

Unless it is broken off, or bent beyond use, leave it alone. It is the main jet and metering tube. They are usually easy o clean and likely to become unusable if determined to be removed. Jim

Your last picture is how you get that nozzle out.
It appears that someone has tried and damage the slots.
Try boiling it in water and letting it cool a few times.
Then use a gunsmithing hollow ground screwdriver to get it out.

The problem with that design is that people turn that half upside
down on their workbench and damage the top end of the nozzle.
Then they are not round anymore and they have to be replaced.
Luckily, they come in the decent rebuild kits.

thought ur wife was the cab specialist. lol. that thing is a mess where is your gunk carb cleaner ? throw in in over night then you will have results.

That's a 3rd bottom half.... Hasn't been messed with. Some how I've ended up 10-15 halves of carbs, they keep finding me Will soak it if we need it

Looks like someone left corn squeezins in it when it got parked last . Wish you were closer I need that engine for my 420c

This one had the same problem as yours. Battered ears, wouldn't
turn out. Boiled it for heat, let it cool a couple of times, then used
a hollow ground screwdriver and a little tapping on the handle from
a small hammer and it turned right out. This was today.

Royse, after we get that out then that
small hole will be easy to clean? Soaked
it for several days in a bucket of carb
soak. Tried torch tip cleaners and small
drill bits ... Keep getting stuff out of
it but can't spray cleaner or air
through it.

That nozzle comes in the kits. You can just screw the new one in.
That eliminates any bends or damage to the existing one too.
But if you need to clean it, it would be easier to clean.

Most likely its a #80( .04) Drill for the idle circuit. Use a pin vise and hand rotate to clean it out the hard crusty crude. Run like a champ again

Good Morning Kevin
I save the old brake cables from lawnmowers , use 1 strand of it to clean the orfices of carbs, Azpeapicker John 480 250 3864
