These were in a pile of stuff I bought off the junk wagon at an auction. These were together in the same box so maybe they go together. The slotted thing says MHA-40. Nail looking thing looks like a rivet but it is really long and thick. And yes, I know the green thing is a ruler.

Looks like it's an old style spark plug wrench that was modified by someone for a specific purpose.
 
Looks almost like the expanding sleeve on a concrete wedge anchor.


No idea on the fat nail, is it steel or aluminum?
And does it fit nicely into the round holes??

If you google MHA 40 anchor, some pdf's show up but I can't download them to read them for some reason.

MIKE: The common Moen tap valves have a replaceable cartridge and there is a tool to take them out or put a new one back in. I made my own once ears ago and it's around here somewhere. I think you're on the right track with your idea ....
 


It's not for the sink drain because you would tear the drain apart before wallowing the holes for the pin.
