2nd attempt at setting up a quick hitch

I decided I wanted to put some type of quick hitch on this tractor to hopefully make it easier for me to hook up to implements.

I started with this type, and realized pretty fast that it want going to work for my application. I wasnt thinking about the possibility of needing to set it to different widths. Also I found out Id have to do quite a bit of modifying depending on what Im attaching. I think it would work good for a more modern utility tractor with modern implements. In my case Ill be using all old stuff cat 1 or cat 2 from different eras and makers. So today I am trying this type.

I forgot who said that it looked like the Eagle Hitch that Case used. The system installed pretty easy.

This type will allow me to adjust my width and then just set the top link.

Looks like its going to work pretty good. I hope now I wont be wrestling with lift arms and implements anymore! I guess Im about ready to start yanking things around and see how it does!

I brought a set of those for my 65hp tractor a few years back. I really like them as it sure makes hooking up allot easier. I probably could have gotten by with your first attempt though as everything I hook on that tractor is quick hitch compatible. I have a couple of smaller tractors but everything I hook on them I can still move around by hand. You have to watch your pto operated equipment to make sure your drive shaft is still long enough as it does set thing a few inches farther back.

Now if you write down where to adjust that red spreader bar to fit each implement you will be golden.
Maybe make an aluminium tag with the info stamped in.
You could even mark the male portion somehow like a filled notch or center punch.
Plow at punch one
Disc at punch two
Back blade at punch three
etc.
Before backing up to implement to get it.

This looks somewhat like what Oliver put on their tractors. Theirs is a hateful system as soon as there is some wear and it won't stay latched.

That's what I use on every tractor that doesn't have extending lifting arms....3 tractors currently, 2 Cat IIs and one Cat I. My Pat's are painted Grey. Never saw a Red one before, but it's OEM as it has his name on the casting just like mine.

The adjustable width adapter is what makes them work and why the fixed width won't work for guys like us who use old implements of different flavors and origins.
