Water meters--Again

The sale was yesterday on Purple wave for those 21 totes of water meters from the city of Tulsa--When I put it on last week they were up to $50,000 and thought that was high--Well they went for $74,800 plus 10% buyers premium--$82,280--And totes were not included--Wow

nlike their plastic replacements, those old meters have a lot of brass in them

Stripped down and gutted which takes a
couple minutes each to do, the scrap yard
buys them as yellow brass. Top $$$$

Shure they arnt bronze. Most dont look to be residential, a lot of what seen have flanges.

The meters with flange ends are 2 inch meters, the ones with threaded ends are one inch and 3/4 inch. Today all brass water meters are made with no-lead brass. Municipal water systems are not to allowed to used leaded brass since Flint Michigan.
