Old Hi-Crop

This is at local grocery store for halloween display. They have some kind of old tractor every year. Thought some here might find it interesting.

There was a company, I think in Nebraska, that made Hi crop kits for certain old tractors- John Deere B's were common. This looks a lot like one of those kits- similar construction.

Think that company your thinking of in Nebraska made them for 8n or 9n Fords!!! They were built to use for drilling rye in standing cornfields!!!!

You are right! I saw one early this summer on a Ford... and yes, they were used to interseed corn, an idea coming around again.

No ladder so I think you would climb up the lugs on the rear wheels. Don't know about how to crank start it.
I see similar units here in West Michigan. They use them in the many nurseries we have here. They can straddle the tall plants and shorter trees.

I really think the shifter lever coming off of the transmission is really kool. Ive never seen one like this hi crop in person. Wingnut

(quoted from post at 13:38:07 10/13/21) I really think the shifter lever coming off of the transmission is really kool.

All WC Allis tractors were like that.

Regarding the hi-crop part, some Ford tractors had a hi-crop set up and were used for spraying. These two were at the Le Sueur show this year.
