Injector pump update

Thanks to dieseltech, and a old bearded guy on utube, I got it opened up, replaced out o rings on throttle and kill shafts. Think I got it back together right. Now to wait 24 hours for gasket seal to dry, before I try it out.

Top cover mates with bottom half just metal to flat metal. When I took it off, there was an orange something on the mating surfaces. I couldn't determine if it was a very thin cardboard, or some sort of sealer compound. Scraped off with finger nail. I assumed orange permatex or similar.

Opened fuel valve at tank, let it set for an hour, and it fired right up. No leaks observed. We'll see what it looks like in ther morning.

Mr Dieseltech. Thank you for your input. I was extremely careful in application of sealant. Dont think I got any inside the unit.
I assume there is a cute little gasket in the kit? I didn't have that. Had to make due with four 49cent o rings from ace hardware.

What you scraped off with your fingernail was the original thin cover gasket Ill bet, CAV DPA pumps have used a gasket there since day one, they were never metal to metal.
