Major Breakdown on the Farm

Good job. If you call it that. If only all breakdowns were like that. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice. I'd like to be there to add my bass. I don't see any capos so you retuned (1/2 step higher) to get G sharp ??

That was great!! Are you located anywhere near the Carter family fold ? I would love to get down to that area some day. BTW I got to meet Bill Monroe , shook his hand and got him to autograph an album for me when he played in Syracuse NY .

We could use a bass. Yes - we tuned up to open G sharp. Flatt and Scruggs did this too in their early days. We dont make it a habit though.

Your son should get an old copy of Earl Scruggs banjo lesson book - the one with tablature by Bill Keith. There are newer editions, but not as accurate. I would recommend Foggy Mountain Banjo album by Flatt and Scruggs. Flatt & Scruggs, Bill Monroe, The Stanley Brothers and Don Reno/Red Smiley records would serve him well to build a foundation on which to play the banjo and bluegrass music.

That was good picking. My wife bought me a banjo almost 5 years ago for our 50th anniversary. I still have not been able to play a lick. I love that music but I reckon I don't have the patience. I do like that string music and wish I could play a banjo or guitar. But after 74 years I probably never will. That

Bill and Son. Now that got my foot to tapping for sure. I really enjoyed that fellas. Never give up ok. Do YT followers get a discount on concert tickets? Thanks for the post. Wingnut-Keith
