This pond is nearly full of water. And the pond is in a pasture, which was once had gravel extracted from it. They hit a spring, and dug out a pond. Hard to tell in a picture, but this pond is very much at the top of a hill. And there have been cattle watering from it since May first. And look how green the grass is on this gravel knoll
 
I live in northern Kentucky, about 45 miles south east of Cincinnati, Ohio. For the past 8-10 yrs our pastures have stayed green all summer, just like yours. I have creek running thru my property that used to dry up too, but not for some time has that happened. Our pastures used to dry up, and turn brown, but our weather patterns have changed. We now have winter, and wetter summers, and almost no spring or fall. Mark.
 
your pasture is still nice and green for being this late. over here the dug out is down a good 6 ft from spring time.
 
We have had mushrooms growing in the sunny part of the lawn this past summer. The soybeans have had stunted growth on the heavier soils such as what I farm. Go a couple miles away on the sandy soil and the crops look great. I'm bracing for a fight with the crop insurance people over this once harvest is complete.
 
Anywhere near Warsaw Kentucky? I broke down there in 68, blew water pump on a 65 mustang . Nothing much there except a phone. Paid a local fellow $20 to drive us to Cincinnati ford house where parts guy met us at midnight with the pump. I replaced it and left there about 3am. Overall nicest folks Ive ever met.
