My everyday job is running a backhoe for the railroad.I handle ties all the time.if you have a spot on the top of the bucket to attach your chain to ,leave only about 2 foot of slack while attaching your chain 1 foot from the end of the tie.that way curl the bucket till it contacts the tie then you have the angle and control to actually put the other end in your post hole.and enough slack to use the top of the bucket to drive the tie down the hole.it might take a little trial and error

My thoughts exactly. I am awed and amazed at what shows up in his pictures attesting to that fact.....I am humbled. Course if a person has the will and resiliency to work have at it. One of my grandfathers had a small farm and worked it by hand at 80 years old. His 7 kids convinced him that he was getting too old to work and should become a couch potato. Within 6 months he was pushing up daisies!

Leave him be!!!!!!

I put em en the hole by hand . I loaded these by hand by myself . I dont mind putting them in the mail hole

I used to do a lot by hand until I hit my mid fifties and I still can at 59 but my body sure lets me know after!
