Its been good and dry for harvest but we could sure use some rain. Been a dry trend for a year now. I think there is hardly a slough left with water on the farm. Just the two dugouts. We will be looking for lots of winter snow and spring rain if we have any hope of a crop next year.

Dusty harrowing and baling

We are just about the opposite here in Ontario, rains more days than it doesnt. Lots of land is being tile drained once again this year. As land prices rise, poorer low lying wet farms are being bought up, whatever brush is on them cleared off. Fence rows pulled out, and tiles put in. Quite a contrast to where you live, with your land drying up.

Thanks for the videos. That is some good drone footage. Must not have been very windy that day. I always enjoy your posts as it is interesting to see what things are like in your part of the world .

We have had no measurable rainfall here since May. All dirt, dust and rocks. Cattle on full feed for months. New rainfall season could start anytime but may not start until Christmas. We continue to be screwed.

No tile drains here yet. Its a bit depressing to see our beautiful natural habitat being destroyed just to produce more cheap grain. We are only a few years away from extreme rainfall and muddy harvests here. A facebook memory this morning showed me pulling my swather out of the mud while trying to swath wheat. Six years ago.

Very dry here in Northwest Saskatchewan. Our oats ran about 20 bushel an acre. Thanks to the geese and ducks using the field as a bedding ground. Most of the oats was walked flat to the ground what Oats was harvested was full of goose poops. Hay was quite poor, so a lot of good cows are being shipped to market.
Ranch.
