I was a BTO today

I was farming with the big guys today. I sold some corn for silage to my neighbor and his brother chopped it with his Claas self propelled chopper with a six row head. They were short on help so I spent the afternoon in a Deere 7800 with a 22 ft silage cart. They have a second cart on a later model Deere. Never chopped over the side into carts before but I got the hang of it about the time we were done. Tomorrow I will go back to the old 4020 and my little wagons. When rounded up his cart is about 3 of my wagons. Tom

how far back do I have to rewind?

Neighbor is gonna start cutting silage next week.
He asked me come over Saturday to help break open the fields.
He's got a big Deere self-propelled chopper. On the first cut
the trucks have follow right behind the chopper. Kinda nerve racking.
I've bumped him a couple times. Thank goodness he has the big rubber
bumpers on the back of the chopper!!!
He runs three older, but nice KW's, an IHC tandem and a Ford Single axel.
The hired man get the Ford. He hasn't quite figured out how to shift
the 10 speeds and the 9 speeds. Plus he has two KW's with spreader boxes on them.
I usually get the one with the hot shift. Don't have to stop to engage the PTO....
just slow down a bit and flip the switch. But it does help to remember to open the gate!!!!

My Dad and I back in the 60's green chopping for the Holsteins--We just got done converting the feed bunk to a green-chop wagon. BIG HP. 400 and a no. 6?? Deere chopper---BTO's---Tee
