not even if i eat my spinach. lol. but i can start the WD9 with the crank no problem. plus the WD40 with 461 cid.

I use to crank my Case LAE power unit all the time with the hand crank.
Powered my sawmill with it for years.
403 cubic inch engine.
One morning it was 9 degrees and I needed to saw.
Took a while, but got it cranked.
Now, it is all I want to do to crank my 1917 Model T.

First for me to see a hand crank on a 660. Like you stated the WD9, WD40, were easy to hand crank. Hand cranking was a learned technique for sure....including the JD model D. We bought a new 660 in '61 or '62 and it was on steel. Gave us a lot of trouble and was glad to see it move down the road.

on these 60 series the crank is not for starting, but for valve setting and timing the pump its sure the cats meow. wonder have u cranked a wd40? its all u want to pull on the crank, good thing mine starts on second or third pull you get played out in a hurry, i agree its a technique with these .

We had a 660 growing up. Stuck a crank in it once.....it was more than I wanted to turn. Doubt my 118 lbs could have spun it enough to start! And it was a good starting tractor

Yes I have hand started a WD40, BUT that was about 50 yrs. ago. WD9s were a piece of cake and they always seemed to start easy.

Thanks for that. I knew 460s and 560s had a hand crank hole in the bolster, and I always wondered what the crank looked like. One guy on youtube years ago used to pride himself on hand cranking his tractors even if they had electric start, then he got a 560. I kept challenging him to crank the 560 but he never did, LOL.
