Old Ford mower

Many years ago, at auction, I bought a 515 Ford mower. My intent was to use it to trim brush along a dirt road. As it has no pitman, I thought I would tilt it up to nearly 90 degrees with no problem. It's time to make it operational, and I discovered in the operator's manual that the maximum is 45 degrees. Has anyone run one of these above 46 degrees?

Rod, it would have been very interesting if you would have elaborated a bit on your terse answer!

I have a DEERE "350" 3-point pitmanless mower that is unaffected by the angle of the cutterbar.

It will cut with the cutterbar vertical and the cutterbar will continue to operate even when it is in transport position with the cutterbar folded to the left over the top of the mower.

Out of curiosity, what is the limiting factor with the Ford mower in question?

Could they be concerned about oil/lubrication?

I have an AC 'twin wheel' mower, and it is unaffected by angle. Originally had gear oil, but I run corn head grease in it. Though not manufactured that way, I have rigged it to run vertically.
