Central States threshers

Attended the Central States Threshing show in Pontiac IL today and was blown away by the large PrairieTractors that were there. Large number of very big tractors taking turns plowing. One that really impressed was a 45-70 CASE. Never knew they made cross motors that large.

Saw it at Greenville, IL and I was amazed too. Not hard to see the evolution from steam design.

Ill be there again today. Going on the tractor ride and then look around some more. Two of those prairie tractors I can stand at the bottom of the rear wheel, reach straight up and just touch the top of the wheel, basically 8 foot i.d. Front wheels are about five and a half. Ive seen that 45-70 pull the front wheels up when it was hooked to a sled in Pinckneyville. It was only about four or five inches but it happened.
